that's right, I had the gull and dare to review only the hottest ps3 release in all of history. Sue later.

4 smileys!

The Short Story:

Pros:
- Epic, absolutely and undeniably epic.
- Blood and gore on a level I have yet to ever see on a game.
- A satisfying end to the series
- the combat is even better for multitudes of reasons
- A actually challenge throughout, though not incredibly difficult.
Cons:
- A few unsatisfying nitpicks that, at least as far as I was conserned, bundled up to deny this title its last and final smiley. All of which are in depth below.

The good!:

There is so much going for this game its hard to limit myself, but here's where it counts. In the first five seconds of getting past the opening scene, the deniable epic-ness of this game sinks in fully, indeed, I've never seen or even fathomed a game with such boggling scale. If you don't at least go Woa! at the very beginning of this game then you must be dead, please go back to your coffin.
But what happens when you get past all the epic-ness boss battles and such? So happy you asked figment of my writing imagination, because the gore will carry you between them, fact is, what kratos can do to other living things in this game is unbelievably astounding. I must have died on purpose at least a thousand times just to watch what the enemies will do to you if you mess up the live action scenes with a giddy little giggle I can only account to gorelust.
Then sammiched between all this great stuff is the combat system, the games true lifeblood, you will be fighting a lot in this game, and the fact the combat system is about as damn near perfect as it could have been for what the series offers helps a lot. all in a package thats not too hard not too soft sorts.

The Bad:
Dont let other reviews fool you, there is bad to this game. For one, though in the very beginning thee camera angles are damn near flawless, past it things tend to get weird on you, even in fast paced combat I noticed odd things like live action sequences in which you are crowded with enemies will not let the buttons appear or a enemy blocks them, annoying. (though I will be honest in saying that it might just be the fact I was tunnel visioned on some of the battle sequences.)
The dodge system is odd, there's no other way of saying it, its just odd, in the fast pace of battles taking your finger off the attack buttons to flick around that lil stick feels unnatural, and got me killed plenty of times. It works, its just odd.
Also some of the god killings are just...well weak. Its almost as if the creators forgot these gods were still alive and decided they needed to die, but couldn't come up with a epic battle in which to fight them. Disappointing considering how epic everything is on this game.
Speaking of odd, the last two or so boss battles are beyond simple. last and final showdown and I felt like I was going through the motions. It made sense story wise, it felt epic as far as the story was concerned, but it felt oddly lacking as far as combat went.
Then theres somethign that will make me scream in any game ever made no matter how good, endless death loops by enemies. there are a stark few moves by certain monsters the game likes to spam that will consistently cause massive damage that are damn near impossible to stop that will have you stuck i na endless dead cycle. it sucks.

The Ugly:
One of the very few games I ever intentionally didn't list the cons on the short story, simply because in spite of not getting a perfect score, in spite of the issues with the game, you really should buy it if you have a ps3. there is really no other way to put it.If you cant buy it, rent it, if you don't have a ps3, find a friend that does, rent a copy, and stay up all night playing it until it is over. Its worth it.
