Ok, I have a bone to pick with the nutter that came up with the vote list for the WAN server.

My bone you ask? where i nthe world is Dawn of war 1 plus its endless expansions!?

Its easy to run, doesnt lag as much as counterstrike, (nore does it have camp snipers...) and only has a reputation for some of the best mods out there, with the only notable acception being Warcraft 3. (but lets face it, if its made my blizzard, itll be the best something. Like ghost was the biggest dissapointing pulled game!)

The final game with all expansions has a stunning repitore of 9, (space marines, chaos marines, eldar, tau, dark eldar, sisters of battle, imperial guard, necrons, and orks,) fully playable andbalanced races for our and my gaming enjoyment, eidts, mods, maps and playstyles area all downloadable.

now Ive givin the plusses, lets talk about the choices we have.

Starcraft?? really? a game support for a game that has a sequeal coming out in what, january? I wont even mention the korean influence because its just too damn easy! the graphics are bad, the zerg rushes are annoying and computer is impossable, is this really the best we can find?

Unreal Tourney. Sure, it gets played, but I dont know why...the game design is doen to death, if the server does lag for whatever reason it will end up killin someone and honestly, I dont look forward to the flak cannon fanboys owning everything for no reason but to never lose. thats not fun, its just tedious and frustrating.

Warcraft 3 is for sure the standby when it comes to tactics style net gaming, and why shouldnt it? with the editing tools and other programs you can change ANYTHING. but it is dated, and the larger games can cause server splits which are just suckage.

Command and conquer is a cult classic, and really has questionable enjoyment after all this time. Its like playing warcraft 2, your eyes glaze over and you just feel you could be going something better with your time.

now the rest I havnt played so I dont have muc hof a opinion. But really, wheres the 40k love???

and where did you hear Starcraft 2 was coming out in january?

I was thinking of pulling Starcraft due to being an unbalanced RTS. Obviously someone is going to zerg rush or have some other cheap strategy that'll kill someone off too fast. I'm not even a fan of the multiplayer anyways, but yeah, you're supposed to post in the other thread for suggestions of games.

The only problem with Dawn of War is that there are three expansion packs + the original game which calls for the downloading of a shit load of RAR files but we don't hurt on bandwidth. It's just getting everyone setup would be a pain in the ass, if you were able to find a game rip of the entire game + expansions that allowed for LAN play then we could do it.

Also the poll is only limited to 12 options which makes it a pain in the ass.

unreal is a classic. like quake III, it must be played every once in a while

war 3 usually doesn't server split anymore, except for dota which we will not be playing.

c&c has a good fun if you playing 2. and THAT is a computer thats hard to beat (in 3 not 2)

DotA doesn't server split, server splits are caused by bugs in the scripting editor but it's rare and the bugs that are known to cause it are usually fixed with updated maps and I'm pretty sure DotA would have been fixed by now with all their fucking updates. And I don't know why you mention not being able to kill the computer in Starcraft since it'll be irrelevant in LAN play! SC is still not good though Jake . And what do you mean we wouldn't use snipers? Fuck that shit, I'ma snipe all you bitches. Don't need Flak cannon if were playing insta-gib although I don't think Dee would like having to play a fast-paced FPS very much lol.

I can prolly find a all in one pack on the Pbay, it could be tough on bandwith, i didnt think of that, most of the time with good game I hardly care abot DL times.

And I just heard about the SC 2 pushback, so starcraft could be usable, but common, theres still a sequel coming and most likely next year. (I heard about the january release awhile ago on X Play.) Oh and I dont doubt I suck at starcraft, I havnt played it in at least 5 years. Id be happy as a clam to play 2 but origional is just...uck. I also hate zerg rushers, siege tank turtlers and of course, dragoon slaps.

Also,DOTA is shit, if not just becuase of its rager-players.

Im not saying that classics werent good, just that there classics, and that means those who do play it, are assuridly horribly evil at it, user freindly stuff people.
